Master William Ting invites you to join him November 5-7, for his 29th Semi-Annual Tai Chi Retreat located at beautiful Split Rock Lodge in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.Master Ting has been gaining the reputation of being a “Teachers’ teacher”.Not only because of his extensive in-depth knowledge of Tai Chi but more because of his ability to effectively communicate deep concepts and interpret ancient phrases in ways students from all levels and styles can relate to in modern society. Originally from Shanghai, China, Master Ting began his studies in the martial arts at the age of 14 and earned the honor of being a closed door student of the late Grandmaster Lu Ji Tang, with that he brings over 35 years of experience to his workshops and seminars.Master Ting has dedicated his life to preserving the pure art of Tai Chi Chuan by sharing his accumulated skills and insight with students all over the world. The focus of Master Ting’s seminars is to unite the student with the heart of Tai Chi by stressing the basic principles essential to its practice. Correct posture, balance, relaxation and coordination of movement as well as the characteristics of calmness and awareness are consistently reinforced to encourage each student to achieve a deeper understanding of the internal flow of energy with unity of mind, body, and spirit. The weekend retreats provide a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a total Tai Chi experience. Master Ting organizes each day into sessions that feature various aspects of Tai Chi and correlates them to accent the intricate relationship between all aspects of Tai Chi study with the basic principles. Personalized instruction, explanation of theory and detailed demonstration of applications and time for practice are intended to increase the knowledge of each student and allow them to assimilate these essential skills into their own style and practice. Master Ting will complement the physical training of technique with lectures designed to instruct and challenge the student. Classically trained in China, he possesses an excellent command of the English Language that allows himthe ability to explain complex theory and philosophy which he fortifies with practical example and demonstration.
