Master William Ting invites you to join him April 23-25, 2010, for his 28th Semi-Annual Tai Chi Retreat
Over the past decade, Master Ting has gained a reputation as a "Teachers' Teacher" not only because of his extensive in-depth knowledge of Tai Chi, but more for his ability to effectively communicate complex theory and interpret the classic texts in a manner students from all levels and styles can relate to. Originally from Shanghai, China, Master Ting began his studies in the martial arts at the age of 14 and earned the honor of being chosen a closed door student of the late Grandmaster Lu Ji Tang, famous in China for both his skill and research into the intricacies of Tai Chi. With that, Master Ting brings over 40 years of experience to this seminar. He has dedicated his life to preserving the pure art of Tai Chi Chuan by sharing his accumulated knowledge and insight with students all over the world.
The focus of Master Ting's seminars is to unite the student with the heart of Tai Chi by stressing the fundamental principles essential to its practice. Correct posture, balance, relaxation, coordination of movement, calmness, and awareness are consistently reinforced to encourage each student to achieve a deeper understanding of the internal flow of energy with unity of mind, body, and spirit.
The weekend retreat provides a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a total Tai Chi experience. Master Ting will continue the structure for the weekend that students have found so helpful in the past. Each day he will feature sessions that spotlight various aspects of Tai Chi and use them to accent the intricate relationship between these aspects of Tai Chi study with the basic principles. Personalized instruction, explanation of theory, detailed demonstration of application, plus time for practice are intended to increase the knowledge of each student and allow them to integrate these essential skills into their own style and practice.
Master Ting will supplement the physical training with lectures designed to instruct and reinforce the lessons learned during the day. Sessions in Meditation will be interspersed with physical training to help the student relax and assimilate their exercises throughout the weekend. Classically trained in China, Master Ting possesses an excellent command of the English Language that allows him to explain complex theory and philosophy which he fortifies using practical example and demonstration.. Come share in the wisdom of his master's masters and experience for yourself the Taoist principles of awareness, fullness within emptiness, stillness within flowing, yielding within expanding.
